Sloep Houten Kajuit Zeilsloep
Description
Small but beautiful! Fully restored Cabin Sailing Sloop in excellent condition. A fine sailor, also by one person. More importantly, a wonderful vacation boat for 2 people.
Presumably built in the 30s last century in Denmark as an open sailing sloop. A so-called quaypoint, freely translated a "Kadeloper".
This type of ship sailed in front of a sailing cargo ship to organize goods on the quay before the arrival of the mother ship so that they could load faster and continue the journey. Specially designed for the short waves of the East and North Seas and were also called "whore runners".
LOD is 5.35m. LOA: 6.72m.
Minimum air draught: 1,20 without mast ca. 1,45m with mast down.
Air draft standing mast 7,10m.
The hull is pine on oak, copper riveted.
In 1962 this former work boat was converted into a pleasure yacht with mahogany cabin, equipped with engine and deck at a shipyard in Hindelopen.
In the construction, the then prevailing classical design principles were applied.
In the late eighties the current Volvo Penta diesel was installed and overhauled in 2009.
From 2008-2010 the wooden hull was completely restored in similar types of wood and made breathable again.
Also the Interior, deck and cockpit have been completely re-upholstered using waterproof mahogany plywood (treated with West-system epoxy coating) and solid oak with mahogany mouldings.
The deck is laid with Marine Cork 2000.
2019-2020 major maintenance has taken place including new oak fender, batteries replaced and a new starter motor installed.
Tightly painted and ready to go.
