Hillyard Zeiljacht/ Bermuda Sloep

Description

Seaworthy and reliable family vessel with a well-documented history designed and built by Hillyard in 1957. Mahogany on oak trusses.

The present owners found the ship in 1992 on Cyprus and sailed with her to Alsace, to give the ship a very thorough overhaul: Inox steering cables, inox tanks for water and fuel, replacement of parts of strakes and hull, complete inox hand- and foot railing, overhaul of the wooden mast and many smaller works on this "old lady" were done.In 2000 the ship was taken to Mediterranean, to enjoy wonderful sailing family vacations. In 2017 the journey north through the European inland waterways to the Netherlands began. In July 2019 the ship is moored at her current berth. Takeover of the berth is negotiable in consultation/under conditions of the port manager.

The ship has been carefully maintained. Much of the regular maintenance has been carried out by the current owners to date. Specialized (maintenance) work (engine repairs / skin repairs / calf care / major sail repairs) have always been performed by specialists. All expenses are accounted for in detail (a requirement for the renewal of the Swiss flag registration every three years).

The Mary Kate is a reliable family sailing ship with good sailing characteristics and a large sailing area. Because of the shallow draft also particularly suitable for inland waters.

We are looking for an enthusiastic new owner with two right hands who will take over the ship with love and who, of course, will enjoy the new adventures with the Mary Kate.
